Steven’s Priorities

Special Needs Needs Attention

The issues involved in providing an excellent special education program are of national concern. I will be an advocate for more training for all staff who are responsible for educating children with special needs. All teachers must be included in discussions and planning which will affect their classroom.

Expanded Cultural Curriculum

In the times in which we live it has become clear that curriculum must include ethnic studies and the history of racism, anti-Semitism and other forms of prejudice which plague our society today.  I will pursue changes in the curriculum to include these subjects.

Budgetary Review

I will initiate a review of the budget with respect to the balance of money spent on administrative and classroom needs as well as supportive services.

“I have been dedicated to serving children with a wide variety of multi-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds for over forty years. The rich heritages of the staff and families with whom I’ve worked have given me a compassionate understanding of the importance of honesty and flexibility in creating harmony for all stakeholders in finding solutions to the challenges of excellence in education.”
